Monalisa Murray has been an independent grassroots promoter of quality music and events across the country for almost 20 years. She supported various DJs and musicians in the Los Angeles area as a music promoter and a fan before taking her love of music to the turntables. When she's not selecting sweet sounds, Monalisa can usually be found working behind the scenes at Amoeba Music in Hollywood or handing front door duties at eclectic events such as Kiss N Grind (Vikter Duplaix) and theLift (Jeremy Sole & Wiseacre). Her key DJ influences include Larry Levan, Jaycee, Rhettmatic, J Rocc, Kiilu, Rich Medina, Sake One and Spinna.
